Learn more about the Finca Barillas
Proud to have sourced this exceptional Guatemalan coffee for you!
Nestled in the heart of Villa Canales, within the renowned Fraijanes Plateau region, the Finca Barillas coffee plantation thrives on fertile volcanic soils, enriched by the eruptions of the Pacaya Volcano. This unique terroir imparts a distinctive character to our coffee, making it a true gem in the specialty coffee sector.
Our story begins in 1866, when Don Marcos Antonio Barillas Batres inherited these lands—formerly known as "Lo de Barillas" or "La Estanzuela"—from his parents, Don Bernabé Barillas and Doña Cayetana Batres. For over 130 years, their descendants have passionately cultivated coffee, preserving a legacy of excellence and dedication. Today, the Duarte Barillas family, representing the fifth and sixth generations, continues to manage these historic estates with the same unwavering commitment to quality and tradition.
